The 13th Annual Pat’s Run is this Saturday, April 22nd.
I registered as a remote runner this year. I have registered as a runner for the last 6 years because the cause is a fantastic one.
This run honors Pat Tillman…a hero. Pat Tillman was a football player for ASU, that gave up his NFL career to fight for our country after 9/11. He died in Afghanistan on April 22nd, 2004. The Pat Tillman Foundation was founded in his honor and provides academic scholarships to military veterans and their families. You can read more about them here: http://pattillmanfoundation.org/our-story/.
For those that attend the run, it is 4.2 miles and ends at the 42 yard line in honor of Pat’s number 42. This is also the 1st year that runners receive a commemorative medal at the finish.
I will be completing this one on my treadmill. 4.2 miles with my hat and shirt.
If you were thinking of attending this run, it’s too late. The run sold out last weekend. I wish I could join the fun, but I’m not quite ready. To all the runners…enjoy!
